Betty Jean Cobb

Betty Jean Cobb, 86, of Owenton, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025, surrounded by her family and loved ones.

Betty was born on September 8, 1938, in Gallatin County to Joe and Claudie (Eckler) Armstrong. She was married to Ronald Bruce Cobb and was a loving and supportive mother to Randy "Pedro" Joe Cobb (deceased), Connie Lynn Cobb (Greg Hatton), and Rodney Lee Cobb (Tina Tincher). She worked hard her entire life and provided for her family. She will be remembered as a strong Christian woman who was God's faithful servant and a lifelong member of Sparta Christian Church.  She enjoyed gardening, raising flowers, and being outdoors. She farmed her entire life and retired from the Owen County School System, where she enjoyed serving the staff and students. As an adult, she obtained her GED and believed in the value of education.

She is survived by Connie and Rodney; her grandchildren, Jenna Bevins Williams, the Hon. James Bolton Bevins, II, Blake Cobb (Kaitlyn), Daphne Cobb Osborne (Robert); her great-grandchildren, Jocelyn Ann Williams, Randie Kate and Robert Lee Osborne III, Kameron Andrew, Kaylee Elaine, and RJ Cobb. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Randy Smith Cobb.

She was a guiding light to her family and will be greatly missed.

New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  Family will receive friends for visitation at the Main Street location on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 11 am until 1 pm.  Funeral services will follow at 1 pm with Rev. Bonnie Gregory officiating. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery, and in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Owen County Friends of Animals in Betty's memory.  Following the graveside service, a reception will take place at New Funeral Homes, 248 West Seminary Street.
