Bettie Lou Chappell, age 84, of Worthville, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Nortons Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, KY.
Born October 13, 1940, on Twin Creek where she resided until her passing, she was the daughter of the late Gayle and Nannie Belle Blackburn Lusby. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald L. Chappell; her son Darryll Chappell, and her brother, Doug Lusby.
Bettie had a lifelong passion for sports, especially cheering for her favorite teams: the University of Kentucky Wildcats basketball team, the Cincinnati Reds, and the Cincinnati Bengals. A devoted member of Dallasburg Baptist Church, Bettie lived her faith daily and found great joy in serving the Lord. Above all, Bettie cherished her role as a grandmother. She adored her grandchildren and took immense pride in spoiling them with love and her famous zucchini bread, a treat that will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of tasting it.
Bettie will be missed by her son, Dwayne (Kimberly) Chappell; her grandchildren, Brandon (Leslie) Chappell, Emilee Chapell, Connie (Dakota) Britton, Brittany (Devin) Davenport, and J.D. (Libby) Chappell; great-grandchildren, Paxton, Carter, Cullen, Cohen, Gabriel, Blake, JuCole, Jayda, Houston, Case, Remi, Steve, and Liliana; her siblings, Shelby Judd and Bobby Lusby; her daughter-in-law, Carrie Shipley; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
