Bettie Carfora

January 26, 1935 — March 27, 2015

Mrs. Bettie Carfora, age 80 of Owenton and formerly of Ohio, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2015 at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born January 26, 1935, in Norfolk, England she was the daughter of the late James and Hilda Roe Koker and the widow of Vincent Carl Carfora. Bettie retired in 1993 as a Branch Secretary for the United States Government in the Department of Defense. She lived for several years in Panama and Ohio and enjoyed horses, horse shows and most of all helping to raise her beloved granddaughter Carla. She was a member of the Palomino Horse Breeders of America since 1982. She will be sadly missed by her daughter, with whom she lived, Elizabeth "Liz" Carfora; her sons Michael (Elaine) Carfora of Ohio and Patrick (Denise) Carfora of Pennsylvania; her siblings, Arthur (Jenny) Koker and Margaret (Bob) Bane both of the United Kingdom; her grandchildren, Carla Carfora, Kalin, Samuel and Claire Carfora; her adopted granddaughter, Kennedy Gwilliams; her special family of Palomino Horse Breeders and a host of extended family and friends. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Owenton First Christian Church after 4:30pm on FRIDAY, April 3, 2015. A memorial service will be held at 5:30pm with Bro. Greg Guy presiding. Memorial contributions may be made to the the Carfora family.
