Bessie M Kinney

Bessie M.Kinney, age 89, of the Wheatley community, passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Homestead Post Acute in Lexington, KY.

Born September 28, 1929, in Owen County, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Raymond and Martha "Mattie" Crawford Dunavent and the widow of Robert Kinney, Jr.  She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Keneta Wolfenbarger and her sister Sylvia Duvall.  Bessie graduated from Ashland High School and received an Associates Degree from  Ashland Business College.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ashland, KY where she was a Sunday school teacher for 6 years. She was also a Secretary of the Council of PTA and President of Wylie Elementary PTA.  She was a member of Mother Singers in Ashland and the Margaret Rebecca Lodge where she was a Noble Grand and Past Noble Grand.  After moving to Wheatley, KY she was a member of of WNL Homemakers, Dallasburg Church and President of Fidalas Sunday school class.

She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Andre' and Leslie Kinney and her grandson Josh Wolfenbarger.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Monday, December 31, 2018 from 11am until 1pm.  Funeral services will follow at 1pm with Bro. Tim Sperduto presiding.  Burial will be in the Wheatley Cemetery and memorial contributions may be made to Dallasburg Baptist Church.
