Bernice Harris

Bernice Harris, age 85 and a resident of Owenton, passed away Thursday, September 19th, at the Owenton Manor. Born October 1, 1927, she was the daughter of the late J.D. Hammond and Hattie Lathrem Hammond. Bernice was also preceded in death by two brothers: Buford and Henry Hammond as well as five sisters: Emily Marston, Florence Toole, Gypsy Steers, Bertha Kincaid and Gracie Hammond. Bernice is survived by a son: Mickey Lee Hawkins and one sister: Beulah Cull of Owenton. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Visitation will be held Monday, September 23rd, from 11am until 2pm at the Seminary Street location of McDonald & New Funeral Homes. Funeral services will begin at 2pm. Bro. Larry Adkins will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Owenton Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Disabled Veterans.
