Benjamin Carroll Hicks

Benjamin Carroll Hicks, age 77, of Owenton, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at the Owenton Center. Born October 22, 1939 in Carrollton, KY, he was the son of the late Annie Marie O'Connor and James Carroll Hicks. He was also preceded in death by his children, Linda Hicks, Betty Williams and Ronald Murphy and his siblings, Rita, Elizabeth, Barbara, Bonnie, James, Raymond, Jack and George. Mr. Hicks was a lifelong farmer. Surviving are his children, Beverly hicks, Benjamin Hicks, Jr., Michael Hicks, Gary Hicks, George Hicks, Timmy Wagers, Matthew Walker, Anna Webster, B.J. Murphy, Marie Brewer, Mae Murphy, Doc Murphy and Angel Murphy; Thirty-one grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his brother, Richard Hicks and his sisterSharon Riley. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 from 10 - 11am. Funeral services will follow at 11am with burial in the Clark's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
