Becky Jacobs

Rebecca "Becky" Mae Jacobs, age 64, of Owenton, passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 11, 2025, after spending a joyful Mother’s Day surrounded by her loving family.

Born on December 28, 1960, in Owenton, Becky was the daughter of the late Foster Wilhoite and Bobbie Kanatzer. On August 28, 1976, she married the love of her life, Danny "Joe" Jacobs, and together they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love.

Becky worked as a custodian at Owen County High School and as a receptionist for Capital Medical Group, always offering a friendly face and a helping hand to those around her.

To her beloved grandchildren, she was "Nana" — a title she wore with pride and joy. Becky adored her family, her animals, and the simple things in life. She enjoyed coloring on her phone, getting her nails done, and spending time volunteering at Owen County Friends of Animals, where her compassion for animals shone brightly.

Becky will be missed by her husband of almost 50 years, Joe Jacobs; her children, Danny "Jody" Jacobs, Jr., Rebecca (Brandon) Wright, and LaShonda (Michael) Johnson; her grandchildren, Felicity Wright, Hailey (Jordan Wilhoite) Johnson, Kiley (Dustin Gibson) Wright, and Jacob Johnson; her great grandson, Nolan Gibson; and her siblings, Scotty Kanatzer and Hope Prather; and Julia Adams who was like a sister to her.

New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  Family will receive friends at the Main Street location for visitation on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 11 am until 1 pm.  Funeral services will follow at 1 pm with Bro. David "Milkweed" Wotier presiding.  Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery, and memorial contributions may be made to Owen County Friends of Animals.
