Beatrice Garvey

Beatrice Garvey, 88, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2016 at the St. Elizabeth Hospice Care Center in Edgewood. Born October 23, 1927, in Grant County, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Ruby Poland Cook and was also preceded by her husband Kline, brother, W.A. Cook, sisters, Lois and Frances Edmondson and grandsons Eric Garvey and Greg Geiger II. Beatrice was a homemaker, devoted mother and a member of the Eagle Hill Baptist Church. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed cooking for her family. Surviving are her children, Janet Garvey, Dedria Dietz, Ronnie, Donnie and Mike Garvey, her siblings, Paul Cook, Bobby Cook, Aleane and Della Edmondson. Eleven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild also survive. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 from noon until 2pm. Funeral services will follow at 2pm with burial in Poplar Grove Cemetery.
