Barry Wayne Clifton

Barry Wayne Clifton, born in Lexington, KY ,on August 22, 1952, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, in Owenton, Kentucky. Barry retired after dedicating 30 years of his life to working as a machinist at Bendix. His career was marked by hard work and commitment.

Barry was a man who found great joy in outdoor activities. He was an avid fisherman and loved participating in fishing tournaments in his younger days. He also enjoyed shooting and spent many happy times gathering with his friends for campouts. Music was another passion of his. Barry loved playing music with his friends and cherished the many happy hours he spent enjoying this hobby when he was able.

Barry’s family and friends remember him as a man who deeply enjoyed being with those he cared about. He shared a loving life with his wife of over 52 years, Joan McCoige Clifton. He is also survived by his sister Raegena (Colby) Criswell, his brother-in-law Hal (Dana) McCoige, and his nephews John David (Kara) Criswell, Colby Brandon (Missy) Criswell, Chad McCoige, and Cameron (Miranda) McCoige.

Barry was preceded in death by his parents, Gene R. Clifton and Juanita Vance Clifton Easley, and his son, Barry Christopher Clifton.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at Hesler Assembly of God.  Times and dates will be updated soon. Memorial contributions may be made to Owen County Friends of Animals.
