Bailey Foster Glore

Bailey Foster Glore, 85, of Owenton, passed away on August 2, 2026, in Frankfort.

Born on April 5, 1941, in Owen County, Bailey was the beloved son of the late L.E. and Gypsy Helen Henderson Glore. A lifelong member of Poplar Grove Baptist Church, he began his career in farming, nurturing milk cows, tobacco, and hay. Bailey was one of the first employees at Meadowview Shopwise, dedicating 36 years to various roles, including the meat department, before his retirement. He had a special fondness for animals, especially Jack Russells and his cherished companion, Little Bit. Bailey's love for horses saw him as an active participant in the Pioneer Saddle Club, and he was also a passionate UK Basketball fan with an impressive collection of UK ballcaps.

He leaves behind his devoted wife of over 65 years, Athelene Stewart Glore; his niece and nephew, Carla Combs and John Stewart, who also served as his caregivers and companions; as well as nieces and nephews Kim Russo, Jonas Roberts, and Carol McKee. He is also survived by several great-nieces and great-nephews, including Liz Hopkins and Kaylan Vannarsdall, and their children.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 5 - 8 pm at the Main Street location. Funeral services will take place on Thursday at 1 pm, with burial following in the Owenton Cemetery. Bro. David "Milkweed" Wotier will officiate. Memorial contributions are suggested to Owen County Friends of Animals or Poplar Grove Baptist Church.
