Austin "Aj" Jarred Skirvin

Austin Jarred "AJ" Skirvin, age 30, of Florence, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023.  AJ was the son of Jay (Kim) Skirvin and Tracie Hammond.

AJ was a graduate of Boone County High School.  He worked for several years as the third shift manager at McDonald's.  He was an outgoing man who loved being with his friends, and playing Pokemon, Magic, and Chess.  He enjoyed collecting coins and Hero Clix and loved his animals, Loki and Barney Cat.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brothers, Kaleb Taylor Hammond, Sidney Skirvin, Jay Skirvin, Jr., Richard Parsons, and Cody Parsons; his grandparents, LJ Skirvin and Carlene Hammond McCray; his cousin, Stephanie Skirvin and uncles and aunts, Steve (Dee) Skirvin, Ben (Renee) Hammond, and Millie (Rick) Herbig.

A memorial reception will be held from 5 - 7 pm on Friday, November 17, 2023, at the Main Street location of New Funeral Homes. Additional visitation will be held at Don Catchen & Sons Funeral Homes, 3525 Dixie Hwy, Elsmere, KY 41018, on Tuesday, November 21st from Noon to 2.  AJ will then be laid to rest with his grandmother Mary Ellen Skirvin in the Owenton Cemetery.
