Anna Marlene McIntosh, 77, of Owenton, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025, at Owenton Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, after a courageous battle with glioblastoma. Born on November 5, 1948, in Lebanon, Kentucky, Anna was the beloved daughter of the late Mable Marie Wise and William Lee Wise, and her late father Russell Mills. A proud graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Nursing, Class of 1989, Anna dedicated her nursing career to improving the lives of others. She worked for many years at the Lexington VA Medical Center and later with the Commission for Children with Special Health Care Needs, where her unwavering commitment brought comfort and healing to countless patients and families.
Anna was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She is survived by her children, Shannon Marie Davis (Daniel), Jamie Allen (Rich) and Jimmy McIntosh (Lori), her brother, Gary Lee Wise, her grandchildren, Daniel Rickman Davis (Lucy), Kathryn Ann Sarkorh, (Emmanuel), Ashley Rebecca Wall, (Justin), Eleanor Marlene Allen, Autumn Elizabeth Allen, Jimmy McIntosh III, and Liberty Ann McIntosh. Great granddaughter, Martha Breit Davis and great grandson, Archer Andrew Wall. Nephew, Matthew Lee Wise and many extended family and friends.
A member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, Anna’s faith guided her life. She enjoyed listening to music, reading, dancing, and spending time with her family and friends—moments she treasured deeply.
A memorial service to celebrate Anna’s life will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at New Funeral Home, 202 N Main Street, Owenton, Kentucky. Receiving of friends will begin at 11 a.m., with the service following at 12 p.m.
Daniel Rickman Davis will serve as pallbearer, with honorary pallbearers Jimmy McIntosh, Richard Allen, Doyle Ray Smothers, Randal Smothers, Billy Smothers, and Gary Wise. She will be laid to rest beside her mother and stepfather at Campbellsville Memorial Gardens in Campbellsville, Kentucky.
Psalm 73:26 reminds us, “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”
John 16:22 says “Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.”
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the nurses, aides, and staff of Owenton Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, as well as to (Hospice)Bluegrass Care Navigators, for their compassionate care.
