Anna L Prather

Anna L. Prather, age 83, of Owenton, and formerly of Jonesville, passed away, Saturday, December 4, 2021, at UC Medical Center in Cincinnati, OH.

Born March 31, 1938, in Owen County, KY, she was the daughter of Shady and Ruby Noel Hudnall and the widow of Greenieo Prather.  She was preceded in death by her son, Gary Dale Prather, and her siblings, Jimmy Hudnall, Delbert Hudnall, Lloyd Hudnall, and Joyce Hamner. Anna was an amazing storyteller who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and a good yard sale.  She was a talented quiltmaker who made sure each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren had one of her creations. Anna also loved hot rod cars, especially the Chevelle she used to own.

She will be missed by her children, Ruth Ann (the late Melborn) Gray, Norma Jane (Larry) Greenwell, Beverley (David) Blackburn, and Mike (Janie) Prather; her grandchildren, Tony and Richard Traylor, Gary Prather, Chasity, and Michael Greenwell, Joey McCane, David Blackburn, and Shannon Thompson; her great-grandchildren, Hailey, Wyatt, Lucas, Tiffany, Brenden, Braxton, Grayson, Gracie, Peyton, Kaden, Landon, and Pyper.  She is also survived by her siblings, Edith Prather, Jr. Hudnall, Danny Hudnall, Barbara Gorski, and Kathy Adams.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, from 11 am until 1 pm. Funeral services will follow at 1 pm with Bro. David "Milkweed" Wotier presiding. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery and memorial contributions are suggested to McDonald & New Funeral Homes for expenses.
