Ann Jones

Candace "Ann" Jones, 77, of Owenton, passed away at the Georgetown Community Hospital on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.

Born July 7, 1946 in Rome, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Elizabeth Gossett Roach and was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Ray Jones and her son Jeffrey Paul Day. Ann was a graduate of Shorter College in Rome, GA and went on to retire as a middle school English teacher. She had a devout love of the Lord and enjoyed watching her favorite evangelist, Milton Martin, on television.  Ann also enjoyed being outdoors and raising a beautiful flower garden. She was a talented horsewoman who trained and showed World Grand Champion Tennessee Walking Horses.

Ann will be missed by her son, David (wife Chela) Day; her step-sons, Jeff and Jason Jones; granddaughter, Anna Gail Day and Haley Jones; and her siblings Vickie Brock and Jackie Ramey.

New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. A Life Celebration Service will be held at 6 pm on Friday, January 12, 2024, at Concord Valley Church, 65 Collard Valley Church Road, Cedartown, Georgia 30125.
