Mrs. Angela del Carmen Cordova Velez de Leon 1945-2025
Born in Portoviejo, Manabi, Ecuador. She was the daughter of Corporal Carlos Cordova Vera of the Ecuadorian National Armada and of Mrs. Juana F. Velez. Angela was married to her husband, Jose Jacinto Leon Rodrigues, for 51 years. She is survived by her children: Her son, Jose Jacinto Cordova (Ana Maria Salazar) and daughter Angela Leon de Juarez (Pastor Rafael Juarez), and her daughter at heart Maria Elizabeth Parraga Loor. She will be missed by her grandchildren: Jose Javier Leon, Juan Jose Leon, Maria Jose Leon (Victor Andrade), Pastor Rafael Juarez Jr. (Rubi Juarez), Joshua Leon Juarez, Annie Raquel Juarez and Juan Andres Montes. Also missed and survived by her 4 great-grandchildren.
Angela dedicated over 50 years of service to the Ecuadorian Red Cross of the Province of Manabi as an accountant. She was a faithful member for over 30 years to the Foundation of Faith Baptist Church in her home city of Portoviejo, where she served as treasurer for many years. She currently resided with her daughter in Worthville, Kentucky, for the past 9 months, where she served and attended Mountain of Blessings Hispanic Church as a faithful member.
Angela was a faithful servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. She exemplified this through her devotion to her family, relatives, co-workers, and above all, to her beloved church. She wanted to be remembered as an honest and caring person. However, above that, her greatest wish was for all those that met her, would give their lives to Jesus. The God whom she loved and served. She hoped that all would repent and give their lives to Christ so that she could see them in glory again.
She stepped into her eternal home on Monday, April 14th, at 9:40 p.m. due to natural causes. She passed peacefully in her home in Worthville, in the arms of her beloved son-in-law, Pastor, Rafael Juarez. She was surrounded by her daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, along with her church family, reclining on her favorite sofa. Above all, she stepped into the presence of God while she sang her favorite hymns. Hymns that she now sings in the presence of Jesus. Praise to the Lord forevermore.
