Amos Wilhoite

September 24, 1923 — September 10, 2018

Amos Wilhoite, 94, died Monday, September 10, 2018, at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.

Born September 24, 1923, in the Hesler Community of Owen County, he was the son of the late Robert and Hattie Acree Wilhoite and the widower of Louise Hammonds Wilhoite.  He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Iva Mae Renfro, John Will Wilhoite, Hugh Stamper and W.K. Stamper.  Early in life, Amos accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and at the time of his passing was a member of the Hesler Assembly of God. He was a retired employee of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Transportation Cabinet in Frankfort.

He is survived by his children, Rev. Mark (Naomi) Wilhoite of Louisville, Beverly Wilhoite of Hesler, and Kevin (Rhonda) Wilhoite of Georgetown; grandchildren, Leah (Jeff) Antle, Rachel (Casey) Kuffner, Heather (Craig) Vaughn and Rev. Stephen (Kimberly) Wilhoite; and great-grand children, Elizabeth, Hugh, Celia, Mason, Cameron, Aaliyah, Jackson and Kennedy.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Friday, September 14, 2018 from 4-8pm.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11am at Hesler Assembly of God with Revs. Mark Wilhoite, Larry Hammonds and Stephen Wilhoite presiding. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery and memorial contributions may be made to Hesler Assembly of God Building Fund
