Alvin Lee Taylor, age 75, of Owenton, passed away unexpectedly, on Tuesday, December 25, 2018, at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center. He was surrounded by his family.
Born August 21, 1943, in the Lusby's Mill community of Owen County, he was the son of the late John Will and Christine Switzer Taylor. He was preceded in death by his brother, William Goble Taylor. Alvin was a lifelong farmer and retired from Grant County Foods as a supervisor in the Onion and Potato Department. He enjoyed coon hunting and rabbit hunting, hanging out with his children and grandchildren and watching westerns on television. He especially loved playing with his dog, Rusty.
Alvin leaves behind his wife of nearly 44 years, Sheila Faye Taylor; his children, Alvin Lewis Taylor, Billy Joe Taylor, Hope (Todd) Mount, Nita Robinson, Christine (Mark) King and John (Alexis) Taylor; fifteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. His brothers, Bobby and Jonny Taylor also survive.
McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Saturday, December 29th from 10am until 1pm. Funeral services will follow at 1pm with Bro. Roger Alford presiding. Memorial contributions may be made to McDonald & New Funeral Homes to help with expenses.
