Allen "Al" L. Roberts

Allen L. "AL" Roberts, age 83, of Glencoe, passed away at his home on Saturday, November 2, 2013. Born January 21, 1930, in Georgetown, KY, he was the son of the late Stewart and Sarah Towles Roberts. Al was a farmer and a member of the Poplar Grove Baptist Church. Surviving are his son, Scott (Pamela) Roberts; four daughters, Rosie Prather, Melinda Ingram and Donna Roberts all of Owenton and Shirley Gerth of Barbourville; three brothers, Fordy Roberts of Owenton, Willard Roberts of Georgetown and Johnnie Roberts of Stamping Ground; four sisters, Louise Priest of Indianapolis, Martha Goodrich of Shelbyville, Linda Oliver of Owenton and Cora Cooper of Crittenden. Five grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 7pm with visitation beginning at 5pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
