Aldean Spaulding Hamilton

Aldean Spaulding Hamilton, age 87, of Owenton passed away at the St. Elizabeth Hospice on Thursday, November 4, 2021.

Born March 17, 1934, in Switzerland County, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Ola Lee Chapman Spaulding.  She was preceded in death by her son, Kirby Maloy Hamilton and her siblings, Roy Spaulding, Doris Smith, Lenore Perkins, and an infant brother Alfred Lee Spaulding. Mrs. Hamilton was a 1952 graduate of Owen County High School and a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.  She was a homemaker and farmed with her husband, of 67 years, raising tobacco and dairy cows for many years.  She was an avid stamp collector. She and her husband also enjoyed raising a huge garden each year and canning the vegetable they grew.

She will be missed by her husband, whom she married in 1953, Dallas Hamilton; her children, Clay (Sherry) Hamilton and Sonya Faith Hamilton; her grandchildren, Evan (Jenni) Hamilton, Brice (Vicky) Hamilton, Kalib Hamilton, and Christle Hamilton; her great-granddaughters, Lily Hamilton and Alyeska Hamilton; as well as her brother, Perry Spaulding.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Thursday, November 11, 2021 from 11 am until 2 pm.  Funeral services will follow at 2 pm with Bro. David "Milkweed" Wotier presiding. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery and memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
