Albert "Buddy" A. Wingate
July 28, 1940 — August 23, 2018
Buddy was born in Frankfort, KY on July 28, 1940 to the late Albert Aaron Wingate and Mable Parker Wingate. He was the widower of Janet Young Wingate, who he married on September 9, 1961 and was also preceded in death by his sister, Ann Wynn. He was fortunate to retire from KY State Government at the age of 50. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends on his gentleman's farm and buying/working on cars. Buddy was a member of the Monterey Baptist Church and attended Elk Lick Baptist.
He is survived by his loving girls, Tammy (Keith) Whitaker, Kimberly (Ricky) Crombie and Wyndie Wingate (Ali Bashi); his grandchildren, Taylor (Matt) Drake, Tyler (Cecily Chambers) Crombie, Matt Whitaker, Alison Wingate, and Aaron Crombie; great-granddaughter, Emberlynn Drake; sister, Kathleen Woodside, Sister-in-laws, Wilma (Buddy) Cull and Mary Jo Young. A host of nieces, nephews and extended family also survive.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tyler Crombie, Matt Whitaker, Mark Morris, David Morris, Herbert Bryant, E.T. Glass, Tony Karsner and Ronnie Wheeler. Honorary Bearers will be his friends from DIS/GOT and Derby Party Friends.
McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Sunday, August 26, 2018 from 4-8pm. Funeral services will be held at 1pm Monday with Bro. Danny Duvall presiding. Memorial contributions may be made to Monterey Cemetery or Elk Lick Baptist Church,
