Alba Wilhoite

Alba Powell Wilhoite, age 90, of Owenton passed away Monday, February 29, 2016 at the Owenton Manor. Born September 20, 1925 in Stanton, KY, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Sylvia Hatton Powell and the widow of Delmar Moore. She was also preceded in death by her children, Joyce Robinson, Kathy Wilhoite, Delmar Moore, Jr., Gary, Vicki, Eugene and Gene Moore. Alba was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith. Surviving are her children, Carol (Curtis0 Patton, Harlan (Shirley) Moore, Pat (Wayne) Caldwell and Paula (Thomas) Starks; her step children, Scotty Kanatzer and Hope (Vester) Prather; her siblings, Geraldine Toney, Yvonne Stone, Marietta Brinegar, Everett Powell, Jr., and Elmer Powell. Also surviving are her 25 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Thursday, March 3, 2016 from 11am until 1pm. Funeral services will be held at 1pm with burial in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Owen County Children's Fund.
