Mrs. Agnes Marie Wilson, age 85, of Louisville and formerly of Owenton, passed away Friday, January 26, 2013 at the Essex Health and Rehab Center in Louisville. Born April 1, 1927, in Squiresville community of Owen County she was the daughter of the late Roy J. and Edith M. Aldridge Palmer. She was the widow of John L. Wilson and was preceded in death by her son, Johnny Lee Wilson and her sisters, Marjorie Lawson and Audrey Shirley. Mrs. Wilson was a homemaker and worked in the restaurant business. She and her husband owned and operated several restaurants, including a chain of Kentucky Fried Chickens in West Virginia. She later retired from the Owen County School Systems as a cook in the Elementary School. Mrs. Wilson was a member of the El Bethel Christian Church. Surviving are her daughter, Edie Franklin of Louisville; her sister in law, Margaret Hall; her brother in law, Bobby Wilson; four grandchildren, David, Darrell, Denise and Deanna as well as ten great-grandchildren. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Tuesday, January 29, from 10am until 2pm. Funeral services will follow at 2pm with Bro. David "Milkweed" Wotier presiding. Burial will be in the Squiresville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the El Bethel Christian Church.
